MEMBERSHIP TYPES AND FEE

Life Membership
Rs. 5000/-
Individuals having a basic degree in plant protection sciences will be admitted to the lifetime membership in the society. 
Regular Membership
Rs. 1000/-
Individuals having a basic degree in plant sciences will be admitted to the regular membership in the society.
Student Membership
Rs. 500/-
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the plant sciences degree program will be admitted to the student membership in the society. 
Corporate Members
Rs. 15000/-
Private firms involved in plant sciences or allied businesses may get a corporate membership.

ELIGIBILITY

Pakistan Society of Plant Protection is a membership organization enrolling individuals or groups as members. They may be enrolled as provided hereunder:

Life Members: Individuals having a basic degree in plant protection sciences, having paid the prescribed life membership fee will be admitted to the membership in the society. Students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in plant sciences are not eligible for lifetime membership. A person entitled PSPP life member must hold a good moral and professional standing to remain life member of Pakistan Society of Plant Protection.

Regular Members: Individuals having a basic degree in plant sciences, having paid the prescribed annual membership fee will be admitted to the membership in the society. A person entitled PSPP regular member must hold a good moral and professional standing to remain a regular member of Pakistan Society of Plant Protection.

Students Members: Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the plant sciences degree program, having paid the prescribed student membership fee will be admitted to the membership in the society. Individuals graduated, and/or post-doctoral research fellows are not eligible for student membership. A person entitled PSPP student member must hold a good moral and professional standing to remain student member of Pakistan Society of Plant Protection.

Honorary Fellows: National or international plant sciences experts and professor emeritus may become an honorary fellow of the society. A person may be conferred the honorary fellowship of the society in recognition of his/her long and distinguished career in plant sciences. The proposal for honorary fellowship is to be submitted in writing to the business manager of the society by six life or regular members and it would be approved by 2/3rd majority vote in the general body meeting.

The number of honorary fellows shall not exceed ten for an year and they shall be exempted from payment of all dues and shall enjoy all the privileges of members.

Corporate Members: Private firms involved in plant sciences or allied businesses may get corporate membership annually, having paid their prescribed membership fee for 1 or maximum of up to 3 years.

 

MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES 

A regular member/life member/honorary fellow of the Society shall be entitled to:

  • Vote in all general and extraordinary meetings.
  • Be proposed and be elected for any office of the society.
  • Propose the candidates for executive council.
  • Propose the candidates for honorary fellows of the society.
  • Propose in second resolutions.
  • Present papers at all meetings/seminars/conferences/symposia etc. and register at discounted rates.
  • Receive all publications of the society for distribution.

A student member of the society shall be entitled to:

  • Vote in all general and extraordinary meetings.
  • Be proposed and be elected for student ambassador of the society.
  • Propose the candidates for student ambassador of the society.
  • Propose the candidates for honorary fellows of the society.
  • Propose in second resolutions.
  • Present papers at all meetings/seminars/conferences/symposia etc. and register at discounted rates.
  • Receive all publications of the society for distribution.

 

DISQUALIFICATION FROM MEMBERSHIP

A member shall lose his membership on the following grounds and reasons and the governing body is empowered to take such decisions:

  • On his/her death.
  • On his absence without permission of the president in three consecutive annual meetings.
  • On his resigning from the membership of the Society at any time at his sweet will. The member should give one month’s notice in writing to the business manager to terminate the membership.
  • Not depositing his membership fee on time.

 

REINSTATEMENT OF MEMBERSHIP

  • In case membership is suspended temporarily for non-payment of the membership fee (up to 03 months) and failure to comply with show cause notice by the governing body, it will be automatically reinstated with payment of membership fee.
  • In case of permanent cancellation, the member will be required to become a member newly.
  • The member will have a right to appeal before the general meeting for reinstatement of membership and the decision of the general meeting will be final and binding to all.
